Manage enterprise projects for Southern California Gas (SCG) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE).
Projects Include:
Out of Band Management (OOBM) Implementation for SDGE – Planned and managed the procurement, configuration, and deployment of Out of Band Management devices at 280 IDF/MDF locations in Southern California. Created implementation schedules, reviewed CTASK assignments in ServiceNow, and facilitated status meetings with managers, engineers, and implementation technicians. Hired and managed vendors.  Tracked budgets with SAP software.  Responsible for all financial decisions.

Projects Included:
Oracle Database Implementations, Data Migrations, and UpgradesPlanned and managed the upgrade of all business unit databases from Oracle 10g to 11c in PRD, STG, DEV, TST, and TRN environments.  Managed multiple off shore teams (Windows, UNIX, Storage, Backup, Network, Database, and Operations Tools) during implementations and data migrations.  Created work schedules using ServiceNow.  Working knowledge of SaaS and vendor hosted systems implementations.  Facilitated status meetings with multiple business units and data base owners.  Completed project work in 10 months that had previously taken 2.5 years to finish.

Managed over 100 physical installations, cDOT upgrades, storage migrations, and third-party vendor integrations for various NetApp clients throughout the world. Responsible for all NetApp and contract resources assigned to a project. Perform scope, schedule and risk management on all projects. Effectively communicated with all project stakeholders. Provide regular status and project reporting. Ensure NetApp Quality Assurance on all aspects of every installation.

Stay- Linked Scanner Implementation Managed the prototype development and testing of a new product scanner interface (hand held and vehicle mount).  Worked with internal engineers and external vendors in preparation for a company-wide rollout.

ServiceNow Implementation – Implemented a service management solution (ServiceNow) to replace BMC’s Remedy.  Managed application development teams.  Facilitated vendor /client meetings.  Developed Regression and User Acceptance Testing schedules.  Developed an end user training schedule for over 120 ITS employees.  Oversaw all aspects of a highly-visible implementation.

Enterprise NAS Refresh Initiative – Managed the procurement process for an Enterprise Network Attached Storage (NAS) Initiative and data center consolidation.  Worked with SMEs to develop the RFP.  Facilitated vendor meetings with NetApp, EMC, HP, IBM, Hitachi, Oracle, Mainline and Trace3.  Facilitated internal core team meetings with SMEs from 5 business units.  Facilitated the bidder’s conference including the vendor demonstrations.  Developed schedules and timelines.  Developed storage recommendations and presented them to upper management.

Corinthian Colleges. Santa Ana, California.  September 2009 – May 2010.

Managed Technology projects for Corinthian Colleges’ corporate offices and satellite campuses.  Supervised internal engineers and external vendors.  Created project deliverables including SOWs, implementation schedules, communication plans, and risk plans.  Interfaced with campus Presidents, Technology Directors, and Finance Directors at 110 campuses throughout the United States and Canada.

Projects included:

Online FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Laptop Rollout – Managed a national laptop rollout (87 campuses, 755 laptops).  Supervised all aspects of the imaging, shipping, and installation.  Worked with multiple vendors and on-site Administrators.  Coordinated with campus Presidents and Deans to ensure timely delivery and installation.  Discovered and corrected a $50,000 error in the imaging process.  The project was ranked #4 out of 67 on Corinthian Colleges’ priority list; delivered on time and under budget.

Data Center / System Fault Tolerance – Managed the upgrade of a CISCO 6513 dual core system.  Upgraded the Supervisor modules from Sup II to Sup 720, upgraded the OS from hybrid to native, removed a PIX 520 firewall and upgraded the Firewall Service Modules (FWSMs) in both switches.

Business Unit 5.0 Pilot RolloutImplemented a wireless classroom pilot at 3 campuses.  Supervised the installation and support of classroom laptops.  Managed latency tests and researched network upgrade options of moving from a 4x T1 to fractional DS3 architecture.

GSA (General Security Audit) 2009 ProjectsManaged the remediation of 107 physical and data security issues discovered at 4 campus locations.

Managed infrastructure upgrades and IP telephony installation projects for AT&T, Verizon, and their clients.  Supervised installation engineers and 3rd party vendors.  Responded to RFPs, develop SOWs, and created implementation schedules.  Identified project risks and developed mitigation strategies. Acted as liaison to solidify the relationship between the development teams, AT&T Project Managers, Directors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

CAMPUS PROJECT MANAGER (Consultant)

AT&T. Tustin, California.  September 2007 – September 2008.

Managed multiple technology projects for the AT&T California State University Infrastructure Upgrade program.  Provided project team with project goals, scope, task assignments and timelines.  Coordinated and scheduled all project activities.  Managed project budget and financials.  Communicated to management project time frames, budgets, solution approaches, and staffing requirements.  Procured all necessary 3rd party vendor resources.  Reviewed deliverables, ensuring completeness for customer initiatives.

Projects included:

CSU San Luis Obispo – Managed the network upgrade of over 280 telecommunication rooms, consisting of 100 supervisor modules, 175 Cisco 2950 switch replacements, 30 Cisco 4006 chassis upgrades, and 11,000 user ports patched.

CSU Long Beach – Managed the network upgrade of 120 telecommunication rooms.  The upgrade consisted of 90 supervisor modules, 40 Cisco 2950 switch replacements, 10 Cisco 4006 chassis upgrades, and 2,500 user ports patched.

CSU Northridge – Managed the initial Discovery and Planning processes in preparation for the router, switch, and wireless access point installations.

Fullerton College – Managed the VoIP telephony implementation for the university, which consisted of CISCO Call Manager and Unity Voice Mail systems, 20 UPS upgrades, and 700 end-user handsets.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – CORPORATE INFORMATION SECURITY

Experian. Costa Mesa, California.  November 2005 – June 2007.

Defined the strategic direction of physical security at Experian.  Managed the identification of security gaps and their resolution for Experian locations across North America.  Standardized camera and access controls.  Developed budget justifications, managed vendors, and drafted project plans.

Projects included:

Global Security Procedures – Developed global security procedures to provide consistency throughout Experian campus facilities, call centers, data centers, and business offices.

Physical Security Roadmap – Created and implemented a comprehensive enterprise-wide physical security plan.

Security Officer Contract Review – Reviewed security proposals from 7 national vendors and selected an organization which saved Experian $50,000 in annual expenditures.

Bonus Cash Distribution – Managed the security for a $250,000-dollar cash distribution to Experian employees.

Incident Response Program – Developed international incident response system to aid Experian employees when traveling abroad.

Safeco Financial Institution Solutions, Tustin, California.  March 2004 – November 2005.
Managed client projects consisting of over thirty team members.   Led in-house and client-based development teams.  Facilitated planning sessions and drafted project plans.  Developed PMP certification curriculum for Safeco FIS project managers.  Helped to develop project management methodology for Safeco Financial Institution Solutions.

Projects included:

HSBC Client Implementation – Developed a lender placed insurance program which produced an annual net premium of $39,000,000 for Safeco Financial Institution Solutions.

Washington Mutual Flood Gap Installation – Developed a rules-based application that identified deficient flood insurance loans, tracked them, and placed insurance on them to protect borrower and lender interests.

Washington Mutual Tape Wire Billing Installation – Installed a rules-based application for determining EDI disbursements.

Fidelity Director Implementation – Implemented a browser-based application for Safeco’s Customer Service Center to more efficiently track and service consumer loans.
